Illustrated portrait of Mona the cavoodle, tongue out

Mona, as she will always be remembered. Tongue out, as usual.

About Mona Collects

The dog behind the debt collector

Mona was a larger than life cavoodle who lived with our founder's family. She was small, apricot, permanently scruffy, and she had one defining talent: once Mona decided she was owed something, that was the end of the discussion.

If Mona wanted something, she would jump for it. If jumping did not work, she would bark. Then cry. Then climb things no dog her size had any business climbing. If all of that failed, she would simply lick you until you surrendered. She did not escalate out of anger. She escalated out of certainty: this was hers, and she was not leaving without it.

And here is the thing everyone who met her remembers: nobody ever resented her for it. She was relentless and she was adored, at the same time, by the same people she was wearing down. She brought so much joy and love to the chase that giving her what she wanted felt like a pleasure.

Mona passed away two years ago. When our founder set out to build a collections tool for Australian small businesses, he tried other names. None of them fit, because the product he was building already had a personality, and it was hers.

Accounts receivable needs exactly that energy: someone in your corner who fights to get you paid, never quits, and somehow keeps the relationship warm while doing it.

That is what Mona Collects is. Escalating letters that start friendly and end formal. A chase that runs every single morning and never forgets, never gets awkward, and never gives up. All of it in your name, with replies landing in your inbox, so your customers deal with your business, just a more persistent version of it.
